Thong Dong tea box

Lys Bui is renowned as an illustrator celebrated for her ability to capture the beauty of landscapes, effectively conveying the unique culture and human life of the places she visits. In collaboration with Hanoia for the Thong Dong product line, the artist aims to express her deep admiration for the fusion of modern life rhythms with the ancient architecture of Hanoi's Old Quarter.

Hanoia employs engraving and hand-painting techniques on the Thong Dong tea box to vividly recreate every street corner and house against a yellow background, reminiscent of the classic colour of Hanoia's historic buildings. Lys Bui's illustrations evoke a sense of immersion into the vibrant atmosphere, filled with familiar sounds such as the calls of street vendors, the gentle tinkling of bicycle bells, and even the laughter of children playing with marble balls on the pavement.
