DEVIALET PHANTOM ULTIMATE 108 DB X HANOIA
Hanoi, October 22nd, 2025: Devialet introduce Devialet Phantom Ultimate 108 dB x Hanoia, their first ever limited edition in collaboration with Vietnamese House of craftmanship Hanoia, celebrating the 20-year anniversary of Tam Sơn. Devialet and Hanoia reinterpreted Parisian Maison’s flagship speaker in the artistic language of lacquer, inspired by the iconic shape of the speaker itself and cultural cues from both French and Vietnamese heritage.

FRENCH SAVOIR-FAIRE MEETS VIETNAMESE HERITAGE CRAFTMANSHIP
Devialet Phantom Ultimate 108 dB x Hanoia, the first ever collaboration between the Parisian audio company and the acclaimed Vietnamese brand, is designed as a celebration of Tam Sơn's 20-year anniversary. Tam Sơn is Devialet’s official distributor in Vietnam as well as the distributor of Hanoia.

Shortly after its global launch, Devialet Phantom Ultimate is dressed in a unique and delicated lacquer appearance by Vietnamese craftsmen. This limited edition comes in a duo of finishes: a Light Pearl version adorned by a vivid palette of French wine red, royal blue, glossy black and gold leaf with sailor stripes on its side panels, limited to 8 pieces and unveiled for the first time during Tam Sơn anniversary event Interesection of Mastery exhibition in Hanoi; and a Deep Forest version with panels in radiant gold leaf applied pattern, limited to only 2 pieces distributing at RENDEZ-VOUS by Tam Sơn. Both finishes are engraved with a Tam Sơn 20-year anniversary logo on the panels’ decoration.
Lacquer, a traditional creative material with a rich history that originated from East Asia, is welcomed all over the world for its unique property: the warmth of wood working in harmony with the “chilled” surface from the lacquer paints. Thus it looks and feels both shiny and natural, allowing a multitude in styles, expression and techniques. According to Hanoia – a true expert on lacquer craftmanship since 1997:
“The traditional techniques of lacquer were naturally conveyed along the Silk Road that linked China with its neighbours and the far west, and rapidly spread to other Asian countries including Vietnam. Vietnamese lacquer art is an extremely labour-intensive and time-consuming work. Every Vietnamese lacquerware has to go through 20 stages in no less than 100 working days, regardless of size: as big as a painting or as small as the tip of a chopstick. Today, facing the spirit of modern life, some traditions have been adjusted, but the meticulous lacquering process remains intact.”

A SYMPHONY OF FRENCH AND VIETNAMESE CULTURE, OF ICONIC FORM AND DESIGN LANGUAGE
For Devialet’s flagship speaker, Hanoia brought their prowess in creativity, lacquercraft expertise and contemporary design language.

The art of lacquercraft decorated the speaker’s side panels—a familiar canvas for Phantom collaborated editions ever since its emergence. Entirely handcrafted in lacquer, two striking finishes follow the same “Phantom shape” leit-motif. Resembling an oval shape, it is inspired and simplified from the very shape of Devialet Phantom Ultimate in bird-eye view, then multiplied into an elevated and distinct pattern. With an eye for aesthetic, Hanoia designers wove these shapes into a rhythm reminiscing the rhythm of “flowery tiles” popular in Vietnamese architecture heritage, until an almost musical-like pattern is shaped, an ode to the beauty of music and the richness of Devialet sound.
Next, the palette and complimentary patterns are carefully curated to highlight the artistic and cultural intersection. On the first version, Hanoia chose a palette of French wine red and royal blue, which are combined with glossy black and gold-leaf colors, as a nod to le drapeau tricolore—the national flag of the Republic of France, Devialet’s homeland. As a tribute to the famed elegance and great fashion legacy of Paris, Devialet’s home and HQ, the Vietnamese brand added a classic in French fashion lexicon: the marinière sailor stripes, in the same red, blue and white colorway.
Presented in the fullest an unrivaled sound and design experience combining the mastery of both worlds, this version is unveiled in the Room of Sympnony in Tam Sơn's Intersection of Mastery exhibition, as a part of “Silent Symphony” interactive installation from Fustic. artist group.
The second version is a radiant tribute to craftmanship, leveraging gold leaf application technique and lacquercraft with four different kinds of gold leaf in as many tones of gold. This golden harmony allows a lavish expression the natural and metamorphic texture of gold leaf applied lacquer, evoking elevated aesthetic and a tangible sense of handcrafting.
This finish is limited to only 2 pieces globally and distributed exclusively at RENDEZ-VOUS, Tam Sơn's pioneering retail experience where it will be introduced to customers via private, tailored appointments.
Reimagining pieces of identity, culture, art and the intersection between the two nations and two brands, Hanoia aspired with an unmistakable interpretation of Devialet Phantom Ultimate as a tribute to the connection between cutting-edge audio technology and artistic creativity.

Stated Mr. Alexandre Chanudet, Hanoia’s Head of Design
“This design bridged the philosophies of the two Houses, a representative for both French and Vietnamese cultures. We developed two distinct finishes, each with its own beauty: the elegance of gold-leaf application and the vibrance of exciting, dynamic colors. Hints of design notions, however small, is a statement in tribute of a multi-cultural collaboration: cultural exchanges, refinement and craftmanship mastery,”
HANOIA: AN ELOQUENCE OF CRAFTMANSHIP SINCE 1997
Founded in Vietnam in 1997, Hanoia was born out of a deep passion for craftsmanship and timeless design. Today, Hanoia has become the melting pot where talented artists from all around the world work hand in hand with local artisans to produce intricate designs in high craftsmanship.

With a strong focus on lacquerware and a relentless pursuit of creativity and quality, Hanoia is proud to unveil our colorful universe of high-end products to living spaces. What makes the lacquerware of Hanoia stand out are the master of material, technical knowledge; a keen eye for details and expressively intricate designs. All of these factors are cornerstones of Hanoia and help to define the desirability of each of Hanoia’s products. “If the design, the illustration is the hallmark of the artist alone, lacquer is the collective work of many artisans and accumulates layers of meticulous small steps” the brand envisages.
The collaboration is an entry to the collaborative relationship between Devialet and Hanoia, celebrating the resonance of aesthetic vision and craftmanship mastery, where tradition and technology interweaves.
